Paul
Jernberg, founding director of Magnificat Academy, has for the
past thirty years been an educator and musician in the United States
and France. A graduate of De Paul University, he has taught in
Chicago's inner city, been Headmaster and Music Director at a British
boarding school in France, and was for five years Tutor and Choir Director
at Trivium School in South Lancaster, MA.
Matthew
Hart, a graduate of Assumption College, is one of Magnificat's
founding teachers. He has studied for five years at the Casa Balthasar
in Rome, under the patronage of His Eminence Josef Cardinal Ratzinger, served
as a missionary teacher in Kenya and taught three years in Massachusetts
public schools. This year Mr. Hart is teaching Latin, Mathematics, Science,
Religion, Music and Physical Education.
Adam
Cooper is a 2007 graduate of Thomas More College of the Liberal
Arts in New Hampshire. He has won numerous academic awards, has directed
and played lead roles in various Shakespeare productions, plays piano
and cello, reads Latin, Greek and German, and is an avid sportsman!
As a teacher intern this year, Adam is teaching Latin, Geometry, History,
Music and Physical Education.
Laurie Ingersoll, our Art teacher, has been a professional Graphic Designer, Illustrator and Portrait Artist since 1971. A graduate of the University of Hartford, she has taught youth programs in Hartford's inner city as well as courses at Manchester Community College. A mother of six children, Mrs. Ingersoll also holds a Black Belt in Karate.
